Independent technical research institute for aluminium recycling technology · Last updated: 2026-10-30
This is a small institute with a specific remit. We read everything that arrives through this form, but we can only act on part of it. The guidance below is written so that you know, before writing, what we can and cannot do — and so that the right submissions reach the right process.
Before you write: is this the right channel?
| If you want to… | Use this channel | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Report a factual or numerical error | This form → “Correction” · or research@aluminiumrecycling.org | Substantiated corrections are published on the page with a dated note and credited, unless you ask otherwise. See Editorial Standards. |
| Submit literature, a patent, or a dataset | This form → “Literature addition” | Same process. We need the primary source, not a summary of it. |
| Challenge a figure or a classification | This form → “Data challenge” | State the figure, its stated basis, and the source you rely on. Unstated denominators are the most common cause of disagreement. |
| Ask for equipment advice or a supplier recommendation | Not us. | We do not recommend, rank or endorse suppliers — see Terms of Use §6. Contact manufacturers directly, or an independent consultant. |
| Ask us to certify, approve or list a product | Not us. | We are not a certification body and issue no endorsements. |
| Ask about advertising, sponsorship or paid placement | Not us. | We accept no conditioned sponsorship and publish no paid rankings. This is stated in full on our About page. |
| Commercial or procurement enquiry | Not us. | We sell nothing and act as agent for no manufacturer. |
| Request reuse permission | This form → “Permissions” · or research@aluminiumrecycling.org | Content is licensed CC BY-NC-SA 4.0. Permission beyond the licence is generally granted for scholarly, regulatory and educational reuse. |
| Data protection or rights request | contact@aluminiumrecycling.org | Access, rectification, erasure, objection — see Privacy Policy §13. |
Stating what we cannot do is not discourtesy. It is how a small institute with a verification standard stays able to do the part it can.
What to include — and why it matters
A correction that can be checked in five minutes gets handled in five minutes. One that cannot may sit unanswered. The difference is usually these four things:
- The page URL. Which statement is in question.
- The primary source you rely on. A named document — patent publication, annual report, audit report, statistical release, regulatory text. A secondary article that repeats a figure is not a primary source, and in this field secondary sources copy each other extensively.
- The figure with its basis. Per tonne of what, relative to what baseline, over what period, at what temperature. A number without a denominator cannot be compared with ours, and that is the single most common source of apparent disagreement we receive.
- Your name and how you wish to be credited — or a clear statement that you prefer not to be named.
We publish a correction note stating what changed and why. We do not silently delete the earlier value.
Send a message
Fields marked with an asterisk are required. The form is protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, which does not use tracking cookies or behavioural profiling.
If the form fails to submit, or you prefer email: research@aluminiumrecycling.org. A broken form should not be the reason a correction goes unreported.
What happens next
- We read it. Everything that arrives is read by the research board. There is no auto-responder and no ticket number.
- We check it against the source you cite. If we cannot reach that source, we will say so rather than take the claim on trust — including where the claim supports what we already published.
- We respond. For corrections, expect a response within two weeks; for general correspondence, we aim to reply but cannot guarantee it.
- If substantiated, we correct the page and append a dated note naming the change. Credit is given where the source and the submitter warrant it, unless you asked otherwise.
- If we cannot confirm it, we say so — and where a claim is widely repeated but unverifiable, we may say that too on the page.
We do not remove content because it is commercially inconvenient to a company, sponsor or reader. Removal happens for inaccuracy, not for discomfort.
Your data
What you type into the form is sent to us by email and is not stored in the website’s database. We use it to reply and, where a correction is published, to record the correction. For the full position — including retention, your rights, and how to request deletion — see our Privacy Policy.
One honest limitation: because submissions are not stored on the site, we cannot retrieve a message you sent but did not keep a copy of. Keep your own copy if the content matters.
